The interaction of characteristics of neurobiologic structure and the negative life events form the main framework of childhood psychopathologies. On the other hand, we can realize that different types of responses are given to the same life difficulties and negative circumstances by numerous parent-child subsystems in our clinical experience. Child development is a very long way with its own pauses, stumbles and accelerations. Being on her/his own journey while having one of the child psychopathologies has its own process: besides the child’s genetic structure and the temperament, the factors effecting the families’ adaptation such as belief systems, infrastructure and communication models also have a major influence on how the journey is taken.
Reactions to child psychopathology in family systems, resistance/cooperation examples and coping abilities will be discussed in this presentation. As an alternative to standard interventions, the equilibrium of difficulties and strenghts in parent-child subsystem will be pointed out as a treatment approach to the childhood psychopathologies.
